Yesterday was a normal day for the emergency room of the Agrigento hospital: simply disastrous.
After the well-known and unresolved atavistic problems plaguing the Emergency Department, the acting manager, Dr., threw in the towel. Gerlando Verruso.
All this yesterday morning. Verruso communicated his decision to the ASP leaders through a letter in which he explains the reasons that led him to make this decision. This is a resignation which makes an already quite critical situation even worse and for which alternative solutions have been requested for several years now.
In this sense we heard from Commissioner Dr. Giuseppe Capodieci who commented on Verruso’s resignation as follows: “The resignation of the manager Verruso comes at a very delicate moment for the hospital’s emergency department. I will try to meet him as soon as possible to convince him to retrace his steps. His professionalism in recent years has limited the damage in that department.”
