MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The levels of the Lambro and Seveso rivers are high but not worrying. This was reported by the Fire Brigade after the heavy rains that hit Milan last night. The meteorological situation, they say, is improving, awaiting an update on weather conditions from ARPA. At 6:45 this morning, the Fire Brigade had carried out a total of 57 interventions, of which 15 related to bad weather relating mainly to water damage and removal of fallen trees along the road, all resolved in a short time.
“At 6.30 there were no particular critical issues. Seveso constant with levels around one meter in Niguarda thanks to the work of the Palazzolo overflow channel constantly active thanks to AIPO management. Tank not used for now. Lambro constant at around 2.15 in Milan via Feltre ( Parco Lambro), therefore high but not at flood level”, wrote the municipal safety councilor Marco Granelli on social media. The Lambro situation is also under control in Monza where, however, the park has been closed as a precaution. Last night the storm was particularly violent in the province of Pavia where the Fire Brigade intervened to rescue a 74-year-old lady who was stuck in her car. The town of Cesano Maderno in the province of Monza and Brianza was particularly affected yesterday where, according to what was reported on the municipality’s social media pages, 90 millimeters of rain fell in one hour.
