Tomorrow (Wednesday 22 May) Giovanni Bloisi’s memory bicycle will stop in Pisa to draw attention to the importance of the European elections and to bear witness to European memory.
The militants of the Tuscan sections and the Pisan section of the European Federalist Movement (MFE) and the European Federalist Youth (GFE) will welcome the cyclist of remembrance in Piazza del Duomo in Pisa.
In the afternoon, after arriving in the Tuscan city, there will be a debate on the June elections entitled “European elections: instructions for use”, at the Domus Mazziniana and the inauguration, again in the gardens of the Domus, of the European bench.
The initiative “The bicycle of memory: the European way forward” is supported by the European Federalist Movement, European Federalist Youth, the “Altiero Spinelli” Institute of Federalist Studies, the European Movement in Italy, the Ecomuseum of the Resistance in Mortirolo, and obtained the patronage of the European Parliament and the collaboration of the Representation in Italy of the European Commission.
Giovanni Bloisi, Knight of the Order and Merit of the Italian Republic, left on May 9th from the island of Ventotene and will pedal up to the Alps to bring European memory to the territories and to draw the attention of citizens to the vote for the European elections of 8 and 9 June.
Accompanying the memory cyclist on this journey will be the local sections of the European Federalist Movement (MFE) and the European Federalist Youth (GFE), which for each of the 22 stages have organized conferences and public events to discuss with citizens of the European Union and how it can be reformed.
Bloisi’s “The European way forward” is also linked to the “European benches in every city” campaign promoted by the GFE, within which more than 150 benches have been created throughout Italy and beyond since 2021. The cyclist will also pass through the European benches of the various cities.
