The structure is now a retirement home and social welfare home-hotel
VITERBO – It was March 7, 2024 when the Carabinieri health protection command (NAS). they presented an inspection report carried out the previous day at the “Giovanni XXIII Geriatric Center” located in Strada Teverina and managed by the Giovanni XXIII personal services company.
There are two types of services provided by the no longer IPAB structure: Social-welfare type service retirement home for the elderly. Social welfare service of the type Home-Hotel, for the latter, even specific authorization.
Hence the intervention of the social services of the Municipality, which carried out an inspection of the structure on 20 March 2024 and issued the following managerial order on 20 May 2024 which orders: “the closure of the structure called house-hotel inside the Giovanni XXIII geriatric center in Strada Teverina, managed by the ASP Giovanni XXIII” after “noted that in the said report the NAS as well as noted numerous critical care issues and administrative, asked the Municipality to send the authorization to open and operation of the house – hotel, consisting of n. 24 mini-apartments that host currently 16 guests who use the services provided by the ASP – canteen, cleaning, laundry, nursing service, concierge etc… and subordinately the adoption of provision pursuant to art. 13 paragraph 1 letter c) of the LR. 41/20036 in lack of title authoritative.
The Service Charter of the structure, containing the term “Home-Hotel” is not correct as the activities are configured as hospitality and rental of accommodation to individuals or families (including foreigners), whose presence is regularly reported to the Police Headquarters“.
