The Mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Goriin full electoral campaign in view of the European elections of next 8-9 June, returns to Cremona this evening: appointment at 6.30 pm in the Sala Mercanti in via Baldesio 10, with Gori in conversation with the President of the EU Monetary Affairs Commission Irene Tinaglithe centre-left candidate for mayor Andrew Virgil and the Regional Councilor of the PD Matteo Piloni.

The housing councilor of the Municipality of Milan completes the panel Pier Maran and the provincial secretary of the PD Vittore Soldo.

A consolidated relationship between the mayor of Bergamo and the city of Cremona: during his two mandates Gori collaborated extensively with the Mayor of Cremona Galimberti, building the project of the European Gastronomic Region 2017, a common tourist promotion in the years of the pandemic , a dense exchange of good practices between the two cities and a network of relationships that brought him to Cremona several times, from the nougat festival – for which Gori does not hide his passion – to an improvised concert by a band of mayors in front of the City Hall. During the campaign for the European elections Gori was in Cremona several times, meeting local administrators and representatives of the Democratic Party, both in the city and in the province.

“In the next 5 years, Europe must build a more direct relationship with territories and cities, a relationship that was missing in previous mandates, often mediated by intermediate bodies, such as the Regions, always very distant from citizens. For this reason I think that a Mayor can represent an added value in bringing a pragmatic style and language to the European institutions” Gori said. “I also ran to represent the needs of this city and this territory, which I know well and where I have often been in recent years as mayor of Bergamo”.
