He promised and he kept his word. On Monday 20 May, Angelo Sticchi Damiani called the press to report on the state of the work regarding the adaptation of the Monza National Autodrome. Redevelopment of the Monza racetrack, Sticchi Damiani: “Confident in completion within the deadlines”

“Unfortunately the existing regulations do not take into account the evolution of materials – underlines the Apulian engineer – because with those currently on the market, without prejudice to the meteorological aspect, little more than a couple of weeks of consolidation may be enough”. The weather, as inclement in Brianza as it has been in recent times, has created further problems to those already encountered shortly after the start of the works. “If we only put the enormous quantity of rain that fell on the plate – Sticch points outi – we would have the excuse to delay the delivery of the works. But we cannot afford it and, beyond the miracles already achieved by the construction company, we must move forward without wasting time”.

But What is the current state, at least visually, of the existing works? Furthermore, it was possible to complete the route because the various points where the track had been cut, where in practice they were the enlargements of the underpasses and the construction of the immense one at the exit of the Parabolica are currently being finished. A long series of more or less marginal interventions still remain to be completed, and this seemed clear even to the eyes of a layman, for example in the equally important pit lane, but in saying goodbye Sticchi expressed his intention to see us again shortly more than a month, convinced that what really matters will be in order by that date.
