“Countdown to the resumption of construction work on the north pier of the port of Pescara. The deadline is set for the beginning of the summer which is now upon us, thanks to the takeover of the new company which will take care of the first part of the completion of the mouth groyne and the rooting reef of the canal port diversion, an intervention which will be carried out by the La Fenice company which acquired the specific business branch of Nuova Co.Ed.Mar. This is yet another commitment undertaken and respected by the Abruzzo Region and the Municipality of Pescara to guarantee the Adriatic city the availability of a new port with great ambitions”. This was said by the President of the Council of the Abruzzo Region, Lorenzo Sospiri, making official the news received from Arap – Regional Company for Productive Activities, contracting station as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Abruzzo Region and the Adriatic Sea Port System Authority central.
“The Port of Pescara continues to be at the center of our thoughts and related planning – underlined President Sospiri -. In recent days we have raised the level of attention on the need to urgently restart the dredging of 30 thousand cubic meters of material from the seabed in order to secure the navigation of fishing boats. But it is clear that our main objective remains the construction of the new port: today Arap made it official that work on the construction of the new north pier will restart by the beginning of the summer thanks to the passing of the baton between two companies. By spring 2025, the demolition work on the current north pier will begin with the moving of the overflows, therefore the construction of the connection between the submerged barrier and the breakwater”. Satisfaction was expressed by the Port System Authority “for the restart of the intervention involving the Pescara port”
