A contribution for the city of Cesena, in view of the local elections, based on its reference values, starting from subsidiarity. To draw it up, in a document in nine pointsare the entrepreneurs of Company of Works (Cdo) of Cesena. A text designed first of all for the citizens, even before the candidates, to stimulate participation and the exercise of voting in an informed manner.
The poster was presented to the press this morning in Hubocoworking space in via Cavalcavia, by the president of Cdo Romagna (Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna, Ferrara) Massimiliano Montaltisupported by the director of Cdo Romagna and Cdo Rimini Luca Lombardifrom Paolo Baldisserri of “Families for hospitality” (Cdo contact person for social works) and by the former teacher and historian Fabrizio “Fizio” Foschi.
«The Company of Works brings together entrepreneurs and professionals committed to the common good» he began Montalti. And it is with this spirit that the Cdo of Cesena has prepared a “flyer” in nine points: «We cannot ignore the theme of politics, you have to make a judgment. AND We are scandalized by the fact that so many people in our city don’t care. It is no coincidence that, in the first point, we mentioned Pope Francis, in his speech in Cesena on good politics and the need for inclusion and participation”.
THE points of the manifesto they are: politics interests us; our presence at the service of everyone; Cesena, how it was and how it is; a necessary method: subsidiarity; centrality of the family; educational emergency, safety and work orientation; a supportive community; urban redevelopment and culture; responsibility of Catholics.
Points linked together by a common thread unavoidable: «Governing for the common good – he underlined Paolo Baldisseri – valorising what is already good». The president of “Families for hospitality” also remembered the many Ukrainian families hosted at the outbreak of the war and supported on site by a large number of associations, in addition to the extraordinary popular mobilization in the face of the flood and the commitment of the volunteers of the Donate food in schools. Baldisserri assured that the CAG will evaluate the candidates on the programs, without ideological preclusions: «However, they need to indicate a path of hope for the future of young people, enabling them to bet on their own happiness, facing the great, unpredictable and beautiful challenge of becoming fathers and mothers, with a common life project. Must block the demographic winter, in a society where younger people don’t think about having children. This is what they are for strong supports for parenting, from nurseries to balancing time, from women’s work to fathers who want to take leave. There are virtuous municipalities in the region, I am thinking of San Lazzaro di Savena, in the Bologna area. It is also possible to implement policies of this kind in Cesena, the next administration will have to put its head, heart and investments into it.”
However, attention to the future Administration does not leave one behind judgment on the outgoing one: «It must be said clearly that The CAG’s opinion on the administration of Cesena is not positive» he began Fabrizio Foschi. “Whoever lives cannot give political judgment in everyday life: going to the market or looking for a home.”
Foschi placed the emphasis, once again, on subsidiarity: «Many say that politics is the response of institutions to the needs of citizens. We reject this vision. Politics is the help that institutions can give to citizens who organize themselves to respond to the needs that life poses».
The clearest example is that of last year’s flood: «In the tragedy the volunteers organized themselves, because helping was urgent and important. The city is the set of environments and solidarities, a community of destiny. When we talk about organized citizens we are not referring to committees or groups that meet due to problems with sidewalks or streets. We refer to citizens organized for fundamental needs, people who read the needs of others and organize themselves to respond to this. A way of doing things that is far from those who experience politics as a protest or a promise.”
Other criticisms were then reserved for the way Cesena was administered in recent years: «I would like to focus on two points: thelack of strategic vision and theinability to ferment the realities of responding to the needs that arise from below. We often find ourselves faced with decisions that have already been made.”
A jab at the outgoing council also came from Baldisserri: «Let’s think about the important collaboration that the parishes offer with their summer centers. Municipal contributions have always decreased in recent years.”
The The Cesena CDO’s manifesto will be distributed “like rain” among both candidates and citizens. With an eye on the Catholic world: «In a meeting of the school of social doctrine of the Church – added Foschi – Bishop Douglas Regattieri, speaking of the regional resolution on assisted suicide, expressed a harsh judgment on certain Catholics involved in politics.
