The program of “Tessere – The celebration of the common good”, 24-26 May, Matera.

It’s almost time to “Weaving – The celebration of the common goodAnd”, a three-day event that will take place in Matera from 24 to 26 May, with all the numerous events dedicated to activating citizen participation for the construction – precisely – of the common good. Who organizes it? No acronym is indicated. The reason? Luca Colucci, one of the many, explained it to usactive citizens“who – he tells us – conceived and implemented this event spread across various places in the city and who – as is also written in the note we publish below – “it is not intended to be just an event, but the beginning of a movement for change.” United in this collective objective therefore, says Luca, a large group “of people who work in the field of associations, social entrepreneurship, hospitality or even individuals who intend to solicit the active participation of citizens in the pursuit of social, collective interest in the various fields of life and everyday life”. An undertaking, in the given situation, certainly against the wind but which deserves to be pursued to counter the individualistic drift well nourished by the religion of consumerism and the god of profit. This is the program announced in a press release: “Friday 24 May the cycle of events will open starting at Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Palomba. At 6.00 pm there will be a laboratory to try your hand at taking care of the technical aspects of the party which will take place in the evening. At 7.30pm with a Talk in which they will intervene Sabrina Bonomi, Emmanuele Curti, Mariella Stella and Rossella Tarantino the themes of caring, civic participation and the processes to build the Common Good will be explored in depth. The opening party will then be held with various artistic moments. During the morning of Saturday 25 May various places in the city will come alive with the Gocce: citizenship activation workshops aimed at all age groups. In the afternoon at 5.00 pm at the Library Portico the author will intervene Giorgio Brizio to discuss his book “For many years from tomorrow” e at 6.00 pm at the Ridola Museum the second issue of the newspaper will be presented “S-Chains – Beyond the error” written together with the inmates of the Matera prison. At 8.00 pm the theater show “Bestiario” will conclude the evening at the Caritas Tent. Sunday 26 May the initiative will move to Casino Padula where it will take place Don Antonio Loffredo who will bring his experience to the Catacombs of San Gennaro in the Rione Sanità of Naples. In the afternoon the cycle of events will conclude with discussion and planning workshops open to all citizens to work together towards the construction of the Common Good through future initiatives.”

“The realization of this three days -explains further in the note- it is possible thanks to the voluntary contribution of everyone who has decided to dedicate themselves to building this process. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Matera and received funding from the Carical Foundation for logistics support. The first Festival of the Common Good is not intended to be just an event, but the beginning of a movement for change. All citizens are therefore invited to take an active part in the events, feeling fully protagonists of the process that we intend to build together, as the construction of Tessere is open, has been open and will continue to be open to everyone.
