Frank Baresihonorary vice president of Milanspoke at the event Sky Inclusion Days to talk about the project San Siro for everyonewhich the Rossoneri together with Inter use for increase inclusiveness in the world of football. These are Baresi’s words:
“Milan is very committed to the project dedicated to the visually impaired and blind, a very important project that we have been carrying out for several years. We were pioneers – then many teams followed us with their sensitivity – in giving the possibility of having a unique and emotional experience. We have a great service, thanks to the guys who take care of the audio description, to make the match come alive in every situation: from the atmosphere before the match, to the goal, to the post-match. We have hundreds of kids who live and are part of the great ‘San Siro for all’ project, because we all have to think about how lucky we are and how much we can give to those who are less fortunate.”
Baresi then continues: “Inclusion is accepting those who are more fragile and giving those who are more fragile all the rights and opportunities. Sport supports integration because it helps make others feel as important as others, we must all commit to this, against all forms of discrimination, with our example to do what is necessary to make people in difficulty feel included. This is a responsibility: don’t forget those who have been less fortunate. Visually impaired and blind people are a lesson in their mental strength. What they give is an example. The memory of a special match for me? Napoli-Milan in 1988 and Milan-Real Madrid in 1989 for the emotions we experienced.”
