discovered over 450 thousand euros “unknown” to the tax authorities

BRINDISI – The financial police crack down on the undeclared revenues of some accommodation facilities in the Brindisi area: over 450 thousand euros “unknown” to the tax authorities have been discovered. In recent days the Fiamme Gialle of the provincial command of Brindisi, as part of the economic control activity of the territory, have carried out a series of inspections on hotels, B&Bs, holiday homes and guest houses. The municipalities mainly interested in the checks were Ostuni, Carovigno, Fasano, Mesagne, Francavilla Fontana, San Pietro Vernotico and Torre Santa Susanna.

From the findings carried out by the financiers it emerged that in numerous circumstances the taxpayers audited failed to declare to the tax authorities the income received from rentals for an amount of over 450 thousand euros and the corresponding Value Added Tax for 30 thousand euros. The irregularities were reported to the competent financial offices for the consequent tax recoveries and the imposition of the related sanctions.

During the activities carried out by the Fiamme Gialle, two accommodation facilities were also discovered that failed to register in the regional register in order to obtain the identification code (CIS) in violation of law number 57/2018 of the Puglia Region. The owners were administratively sanctioned.

A note from the financial police recalls that “fighting tax evasion means contributing to the prospects of recovery and relaunching the country’s economy and promoting a more equitable distribution of the tax levy among citizens (‘paying everyone to pay less’) “.
