La Spezia, 20 May. (askanews) – Ceremony day in La Spezia, where the renovated Ferretti Group Riva shipyard was inaugurated on the morning of Friday 17 May. The ribbon cutting was entrusted to the president Tan Xuguang and the managing director, Alberto Galassi, present together with the local authorities and the engineer Piero Ferrari, who presides over the strategic product department.
The La Spezia production site plays a crucial role from an industrial point of view, as well as employing 750 workers on a daily basis, of which 200 are direct employees. The shipyard has been renovated in the production and management areas, but also in the lounge area which will welcome owners, captains and crews. Innovations so important and evident that Galassi defined it as “the best factory in the world” as regards the nautical industry: “Those who build boats, in the end, are people. And they must work in the best possible conditions. For this reason, I talked about the best establishment in the world: in the finishes, in the history, for the historical effect, but also the possibility of overlooking the sea and the gulf of La Spezia. We have many customers who come here and ask us: “When does it happen to me again ?”. Answer: never again.”
The 64,000 square meter factory, with 33 berths and 4 sheds equipped with 21 production stations, will allow the launch of over 30 boats per year. For the occasion, a Riva 110 Dolcevita yacht was launched, amidst the applause of the management and shipyard workers. Ferretti Group recently celebrated the data relating to the financial year ending 31 December 2023 with excellent results, but is already looking beyond: “We cannot stop, because the world changes quickly and we must continue to invest in new products, to attract customers in the market segments in which they do not feel the macroeconomic turbulences. We have the most important brand in global boating and, fortunately, we make beautiful boats.”
Those present were then able to visit the factory located in an area of regional interest, within the Il Miglio Blu project to enhance the territory and certified by Rina for respecting the surrounding natural environment.
