The Fentanyl emergency is also arriving in Veneto, which is decimating entire generations in the USA. The video, shot for us by Elena Donazzan (FdI), regional councilor for Education, is shocking. He films three young individuals in the area of the bus station in San Donà di Piave. Donazzan takes a stand and intends to bring together the responsible institutions at a territorial level and strengthen supervision in schools. Let’s remember that Fentanyl it is a drug that belongs to the opioid category – the same family as heroin and morphine – but is much more powerful than: “100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin”, we read on the website of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the US federal anti-drug agency (For further information click here – source: Istituto Mario Negri).

“The Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio is right: Fentanyl, also known as the ‘zombie drug’, represents a serious danger for our community and, in particular, for the youngest. The fact that it is spreading in Veneto worries me. Some citizens have reported to me cases of young hirers in pitiful conditions, slumped over, just after class hours.”
Thus the Councilor for Education of the Veneto Region Elena Donazzan (Fd), who has already written to the Territorial School Office of Venice, to ask them to monitor the problem and to encourage information activity on the terrible effects of Fentanyl.
“Awareness of the problem must be spread among young people by helping them understand the seriousness of the phenomenon and also asking them to report anomalous situations, because only in this way can prevention be achieved. Unfortunately, in schools or related environments there are merchants of death who risk corrupting our young people, young people who should always keep their eyes on life.”
Donazzan invites us not to underestimate this new plague: “I will ask the Prefect of Venice, which is the province from which I receive the most reports, to bring together the subjects responsible for territorial emergencies because this is what this is about. I will ask the Prosecutor’s Office to also be involved, given the great sensitivity of the Attorney General Dr. Bruno Cherchi”.
