Return the Fiumicino Paddling Festival, a paddle descent on the river (canoe, SUP, kayak, dinghy) starting just upstream from Capo 2 Rami, between Ostia Antica and Parco Leonardo and arriving at the Fiumicino dock. About 7 km of unexpected landscapethe “wild” river, the Trajan’s pit dug in the 1st century AD, the Fiumicino canal with its boats and fishing boats.
An opportunity for sporting, recreational and motor activities which sees boarding in the water from both sides of Ostia Antica (Rome) and Parco Leonardo (Fiumicino) and is in its 3rd edition. Departure at 4pm and arrival at 6.30pm at the Fiumicino dock
The event will be attended by athletes, families, water activity enthusiasts, scouts and various stakeholders of the Tiber River Contract. The event celebrates the river’s arrival at the sea after more than 400 km; the event, in fact, is an action of the International Descent of the Tiber, a stage event which, in Rome and Lazio, has already covered the Sabina, the Settebagni area, the Aniene and the confluence with the Tiber, the center of the city . Lazio Region, Metropolitan City, Municipality of Fiumicino, Municipality they sponsor the event which is included among the actions of the Tiber River Contract, from Castel Giubileo to the Foce and is organized by the Discesa Internazionale del Tevere association with the collaboration of UISP Acquaviva for the valorization and protection of the rivers.
The Fiumicino Paddling Festival, in fact, it aims, in a playful way, to raise awareness of a stretch of river with a wide sporting and tourist value while being aware of the environmental characteristics of the watercourse.
