ASTI – Asti will host the first edition of Italian team plogging championship. The appointment is for Sunday 23 June day in which 20 teams from all over Italy will compete with a single objective: to clean up the territory while running. This is the true spirit of plogging, the discipline that invites runners to collect small abandoned waste, leaving the world a little cleaner. The winning team, in addition to boasting the title of Italian champion, will be able to take part in the first edition of the world team plogging championship, scheduled for November 17th in Genoa, as part of the events that see the Ligurian capital as the European Capital of Sports 2024

Who can participate in the first edition of the Italian team plogging championship?

Anyone can register their team by June 10th. The first 20 teams will be admitted to participate, made up of four ploggers each, plus 2 reserves. Gender equality will be mandatory, so they must be present in every team two women and two men. All the information for registering your team can be found on www.worldploggingchampionship.com while the registration form is available on this page.

“After three editions of the individual plogging world championship which proved to be a success from all points of view, we have decided to expand the range of initiatives with the team championships – comments Roberto Cavallo, director of the competition -. This is because team sport unites and collaborating to leave a piece of the world better than how you found it is even more significant and then together you can immediately separate the waste collected. Why the first edition in Asti? Because it is one of the most active cities in Italy in promoting plogging and was among the first to create a specific association dedicated to plogging”

The Italian Plogging Championship is organized by the National Plogging Committee, made up of the International Committee (made up of AICA – International Association for Environmental Communication, ERICA soc. coop., ACEA Pinerolese Industriale, Erik Ahlström – Plogga, Carlo Degiovanni – Podistica Valle Infernotto and Sandro Fioravanti – RAI Sport) and by Michele Narciso – Asti plogging representative – Ecorunners Astigiani.
