More blood on the streets of Lucania. A 56-year-old man from Potenza, driving a large-displacement motorbike, lost his life after skidding, ending violently against the guard rail. The accident occurred in the afternoon along the Statale 407 Basentana, between the Brindisi di Montagna and Trivigno exits. The centaur’s son, who was on board the motorbike, is in serious condition. The ten-year-old boy was rescued by the 118 health workers and transported to the nearby San Carlo hospital in Potenza where he was hospitalized under code red.
There was nothing to be done, however, for the 56-year-old, who died practically instantly due to the severity of the injuries sustained following the violent impact. The firefighters and the police also arrived on site and started investigations to ascertain the causes and exact dynamics of the accident. Only forty days ago another centaur lost his life on the streets of Potenza: the crash along State Road 92 in the Pignola area was fatal for Michele Pellegrino, a traffic policeman from Potenza.
