Accused of being the alleged author of a violent robbery in Avenza (Carrara)which took place last March, was a 40-year-old Italian tracked down in Turin where, after a chase through the city center, he was stopped and arrested by the police. Shortly before him, the man, already known to the police, had fled following the raid on his house by the police, who had arrived on site to carry out the measurement: here, during the search, in addition to around thirty grams of hashish attributable to people living in the house, was also found a big boa.
Going one step back, the investigation conducted by the Carrara police station and the flying squad was triggered by the attack on the Avenza post office. The same area, as explained by the Massa Carrara Police Headquarters, was already known from previous visits by the 40-year-old, where he would have returned for the robbery, committed at the end of March, at a time when only one employee was present in the office who was threatened and beaten. Then the escape, with a meager loot, from the hamlet of Carrara.
Working to identify the author, the investigations by investigators would have led to the reconstruction of the steps taken by a car immediately considered suspicious, which after the robbery immediately left for Turin. The magnifying glass, retracing the facts, finally identified the 40-year-old as the alleged perpetrator, recipient of a precautionary custody order in prison, subsequently issued by the Apuan investigating judge.
The police then reached Turin and, having arrived at the man’s home, the latter apparently attempted to escape: by launching himself into the streets of the city in a van, the officers, with the help of their Turin colleagues, stopped him after a chase. The presence of the large snake was then discovered in the house.
