The State Police continues to achieve its institutional objectives, taking care of the constant planning of multiple services specifically aimed at preventing and combating driving behavior considered among the main causes of road accidents. In recent days a patrol of the Novara Traffic Police Section – Romagnano Sesia Subsection, in service on the A26 Voltri/Sempione motorway artery, in the territory of the Municipality of Sillavengo (NO), engaged in speed control activities with Trucam equipment, has detected the passage of a car traveling at a speed of 255 km/h, in a stretch where the limit of 130 km/h was present.

At the end of the investigations conducted by the operational unit, the driver was charged with the infringement relating to exceeding the speed limits and an administrative fine of Euro 845 was imposed. At the same time, the driving license was withdrawn for the purposes of suspension, for a period of 6 to 12 months.

In the first four months of the current year, the Novara Traffic Police Section detected a total of 1648 violations linked to speeding, which constitutes one of the most recurring factors in causing road accidents.
