Truck on the new pavement of Piazza Duomo, fine

L’AQUILA – The truck that arrived on the new pavement of Piazza Duomo was fined, which also damaged the structures installed for Vinaria.

“The tir which caused damage to the structures installed to allow the ‘Vinaria’ event to take place, did not have any authorization to transit on the new paving of Piazza Duomo. In fact, around 1pm on May 15th, it was discovered by the officers on duty that the vehicle could not stop in that stretch, so the sanction and the invitation to the driver to leave the unduly occupied area in the square. We therefore do not understand the reasons for the opposition’s polemics, which once again show that they are engaging in sterile and instrumental lines of criticism that citizens brand as such.” Thus Laura Cucchiarella, L’Aquila municipal councilor for the municipal police, in responding to the opposition’s criticisms on the case of the truck fined in recent days in Piazza Duomo. “Even in this case, what emerges is the futility of the controversy, started by the opposition, with the sole aim of putting in a bad light an Administration which, despite going through unforeseen events and small delays, is committing important resources and activating concrete actions to give the City the luster and the image it deserves, implementing among other things an unprecedented restyling work. All this, at the same time, also contributing to revitalizing the historic center and encouraging the holding of many important events”. “Finally, I want to underline – concludes Cucchiarella – that the controls by the Municipal Police in the historic center of the city have been strengthened in recent months, without neglecting the presence in the hamlets and at the Collemaggio ‘Natali’ terminal. A strategy that is receiving appreciation from citizens and tourists, and which will continue in order to guarantee compliance with the rules to allow the correct use of the spaces intended for the community”.
