Notes on the show

“The harvest”, directed by Gino Brusco, was written by Giorgia Brusco who on stage plays the role of one of the two protagonist sisters (the other is played by Chiara Giribaldi), and won the prize for dramaturgy in 2019 “Antonio Conti”.

The story is that of two sisters who grew up in the shadow of a mother who was as cumbersome as she was devoid of affection: Beatrice, the eldest, serious and judicious, is resigned to a life of sacrifice and duties; Anna, her younger sister, dreams of a different life and is determined to obtain it, regardless of other people’s judgment and the pain that her choices can cause. The lives of the two protagonists take opposite directions, but when their mother dies, Anna and Beatrice find each other again after twenty years. A human and social fresco capable of crossing highly topical issues, such as care for the elderly, euthanasia and individual freedom.

Active since 1995, the Imperia company has been awarded multiple awards at the Maschera d’Oro, winning the festival in 2012.
