Friday 17 May 2024 – Six years after its foundation, theAssociation of Diabetic Parents and Young People of Basilicata decided to celebrate his birthday with an initiative in the municipality of Viggiano, called Viggiano Diabetes Day which will be held on May 19th.
The initiative, aimed mainly at all families associated with AGGB Basilicata who have a child/young person with Type One Diabetes, includes moments of sport for the youngest at the PalaVejanum and a tourist itinerary for adults and parents, an opportunity to come together and exchange ideas and information in the true associative spirit.
The day will begin at 9:00 am at the PalaVejanum with institutional greetings: the mayor of Viggiano Amedeo Cicala, the President of the Council of the Basilicata Region Carmine Cicala, the president of AGGD Basilicata Angela Possidente and the President of ASD Viggiano, Vincenzo Friguglietti, who will involve teams local volleyball and football clubs, which will be available, with sporting activities, to type one kids.
Precisely with the aim of spreading the values of sharing and information on juvenile diabetes, the content creator “Diabetica.it”, Ilenia Pignatone, mother of a little girl with T1 diabetes, also accompanied and gave her testimony throughout the day. will be able to exchange advice and opinions with Lucanian families.
The event will close with a convivial lunch for all the families and the Extraordinary Assembly will follow with the report of the activities carried out in the last six years and the election of the new President and Board of Directors of AGGD Basilicata.
