The bodies of the two, in an advanced state of decomposition, were found on the ground, one next to the other, with wounds and blood such that a case of murder and suicide is hypothesized.

The Ancona Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation for voluntary homicide in relation to the discovery, yesterday in Chiaravalle (Ancona), of the lifeless bodies of a mother and son, aged 78 and 54. The bodies were found on the ground, one next to the other, with wounds and blood such that a case of murder and suicide is hypothesized.

The two – Loredana Molinari and Maurizio Bucciarelli – they lived together in the apartment in via Gramsci 20. The public prosecutor Ruggiero Dicuonzo ordered the autopsies, the date of which has not yet been set, to ascertain the causes of death but also how long the two had been dead. The corpses were indeed in advanced state of decomposition and the death could date back to a few days ago: the report had come from some neighbors who had smelled a strong odor coming from the house.

The firefighters intervened on the spot and forced the door of the house, which they found closed. Together with them the carabinieri, the medical examiner and the prosecutor Dicuonzo. According to some testimonies, the victims were private people and no one had ever heard any particular arguments; the residents hadn’t seen them for about a week. While the woman stayed at home, her son worked outside and generally returned in the evening.

Mother and son found dead at home in Chiaravalle, traces of blood and knives: murder-suicide hypothesis

The dynamics of the deaths of the two are therefore still being examined by investigators: they would have been found on both bodies stab wounds e this element, in addition to the fact that the apartment was closed from the inside, would support the thesis of a murder-suicide.

Initial investigations revealed no problems of a socio-economic nature: the two lived on the salary of the man, an employee of a bank, and the pension of the elderly woman, who had become a widow. As far as investigators know, there were no other close relatives.
