Zls refinancing Port of Venice – Rodigino: “Now it becomes reality for the benefit of the growth of a strategic area of ​​Veneto”

The Thematic Table of the Simplified Logistics Zone Port of Venice – Rodigino met yesterday in the multipurpose room of the Palazzo Grandi Stazioni in Venice

The meeting convened by the Regional Councilor for Economic Development and Energy saw the participation of representatives of the 20 Municipalities involved in the ZLS, the Port Authority and all the trade, employer and trade union associations.

“I called this meeting to take stock of the situation with respect to the legislative decree which provides for the refinancing of the tax credit for the year 2024 for an amount equal to 80 million euros for all companies that decide to invest in the territories included in the ZLS Port of Venice – Rodigino – explained the Regional Councilor for Economic Development -. These 80 million euros have a deadline set for November 15th and, therefore, even if we are waiting for the implementing decree on the tax credit, it is necessary to start from the discussion between all the subjects involved to inform the interested companies of the opportunities that have arisen open.”

“On the occasion of the Economic Development Commission of the State Regions Conference – the Regional Councilor specified – I proposed that the FTZ tax credit be refinanced for 2025 and 2026. Colleagues from the other regions accepted the proposal which will be forwarded to the Government with the aim of giving a broader scope with respect to investment prospects in the territories” .

Dr. Santo Romano, director of the Economic Policies, Human Capital and Community Programming Area of ​​the Veneto Region, illustrated the work that the Veneto Region is carrying out with regards to its obligations while awaiting the Prime Ministerial Decree of the Prime Minister appointing the Committee address of the ZLS. In particular, bureaucratic simplification processes are envisaged, which will result in the single authorization, and forms of support for businesses.

Dr. Adanella Peron, head of the Industry, Craft, Commerce and Services Directorate of the Veneto Region, added that the offices have started a mapping of the areas suitable for investments throughout the Veneto region with a particular focus on the territory included in the Port of Venice ZLS – Rodigino.

“We want to accompany companies by the hand to invest in the territories – concluded the Councilor for Economic Development of Veneto -, we must all together talk about these opportunities and ensure that the ZLS soon becomes a reality for the benefit of the growth of an area that we consider strategic for the entire Veneto”.

“An important meeting of the Working Group on the ZLS was held which involved all the main players in the area in the collaboration that has been carried out on the topic for years – declares the President of the Venice Rovigo Chamber of Commerce – We have learned that the Veneto Region, in the economic development commission of the State-Regions Conference which met yesterday, made an initial request to consider the refinancing of the FTA also for 2025 and 2026.”

And goes on: “Allocation of funds for the next two years would mean guaranteeing a certain time horizon for all companies that intend to invest in the 20 municipalities included in the Simplified Logistics Zone. Continuity of funding is vital; I hope that the State-Regions Conference and Parliament will take this request into serious consideration.”

He concludes: “For 2024 it is necessary that the 80 million allocated in recent days with the “Cohesion” Law Decree be made available to companies as soon as possible by issuing the implementing decrees.”
