The meeting was held today with the mayor of Messina Federico Basile, the councilor for Social Services Alessandra Calafiore, the president of the Messina social city Valeria Asquini and Daniela Bruno, member of the Board of Directors. Fiadel requested the meeting for the advance of the fourteenth month’s salary for the year 2024 for the employees of the Messina Social City, the change of contract from social cooperatives to local functions and the stabilization of the precarious workers on the first long list of 2019, who have reached and exceeded twenty-four months.
Mayor Basile reiterated that it is the administration’s intention to bring forward the fourteenth month’s salary to 2024; for this reason it is necessary to modify the service contract both for the provision of the fourteenth month’s salary and for contractual adjustments. It is the administration’s firm intention, Mayor Basile reiterated, to pay the fourteenth month’s salary by the month of September and stabilize the workers on the first long list of 2019 in continuity with the administrative action of the former mayor Cateno De Luca.
Regarding the contract change, the Mayor gave a mandate to Messina Social City to start negotiations with the OSS, in order to quantify the sums to be allocated in the budget. FIADEL also requested Messina Social City to recognize and provide those contractual provisions that are due to workers such as the reimbursement of petrol for services for assistance to the elderly and disabled, meal vouchers for those who work hours longer than 6 hours and shift allowance. FIADEL expresses satisfaction with the commitments undertaken by the mayor Federico Basile.
