Firefighters at work throughout the region due to the bad weather that has hit Northern Italy and Veneto since yesterday morning.

Requests for help especially for flooding, landslides and unsafe plants. In the province of Verona, 60 interventions for water damage have been carried out since midnight, particularly in the area of San Bonifacio and Soave where divers from Vicenza also intervened for motorists stuck in an underpass.

In Padua alone, 60 interventions were carried out in the province: the municipalities of Montagnana and Casale di Scodosia were particularly affected. A landslide invaded the road behind the Rocca di Monselice.

Rail traffic is suspended on the Vicenza – Padua/Schio/Treviso lines due to adverse weather conditions which are causing the risk of flooding of the Bacchiglione and Retrone rivers.

RFI technicians are working to restore full functionality of the line.
