Table in Piazza Roma: “Queen city of food”

An open-air restaurant in Piazza Roma as a sign of tourism promotion and solidarity. A large table in the heart of Modena where you can taste the delicacies of Modena cuisine. On May 18th, on the second ‘Italian Catering Day’, the ‘Lunch in Piazza Roma’ initiative, conceived by Fipe-Confcommercio, is promoted. “An important moment of meeting between those who produce and consumers to live a real emotional experience”, said Tommaso Leone, provincial president of Confcommercio. Parmesan platters, cheeks with balsamic vinegar and many other specialties in the name of Modena’s food and wine excellences. “A great initiative in a very beautiful context with a prestigious offer of typical products of Modena cuisine”, highlighted Enrico Corsini, president of Piacere Modena. “Part of the proceeds will be donated to our hospitality activities. A way to combine the promotion of the food of our lands with a significant social purpose”, underlines Alberto Caldana, president of the Porta Aperta association. Modena is increasingly increasing its tourist vocation, from the artistic aspect to that of ceramics, from the Motor Valley to the Food Valley. “We are certain that Modena will be remembered not only as a beautiful architectural place but also as a place where you eat well”, assures Luca Marchini, chef and provincial president of FIPE-Confcommercio Modena. “The objective – explained Ludovica Carla Ferrari, councilor for Politics and Tourism – linked to solidarity embellishes the entire event. We are a productive territory recognized for its capacity and industrial development”. Modenamoremio “is there and will continue to be there to enhance the excellence of Modena and the beauty of our historic center”, noted Angelo Giovannini, director of Modenamoremio. In Emilia Romagna there are 44 PDO and PGI products, 27 of which are in the province of Modena. “What I appreciate most is the union of the conviviality of the table in a square or a street, combining these two magic will be wonderful”, concluded Davide Forghieri, Modena at the table.
