Floods and inundationscaused by incessant rain falling for 24 hours, are creating heavy inconveniences in Milan and in much of the Lombardy. And the forecasts do not bode well. Over 200 interventions carried out by the firefighters: more than half in the Milan area and dozens in the province of Monza Brianza, mainly for rescue of people in difficulty and drainage. The provincial command of the Carabinieri of Milan has activated anti-looting services in the areas most affected by the floods, which will continue until the end of the emergency. In the evening on the A4 Milan-Brescia, the section between the junction with the A35 Bre.Be.Mi, in the Brescia area, and Cavenago (in Brianza) towards Milan, previously closed due to flooding caused by the heavy rains, was reopened. they affected the areas adjacent to the motorway. In Monza the schools near the Lambro closed on Thursday 16th
Due to the hydrometric level of the Lambro river which in Monza is still higher than the guard limit (two metres), the mayor of Monza Paolo Pilotto has established that tomorrow, 16 May, the institutes near the river will remain closed. In detail, the Nido Centro, the Umberto I nursery school, the De Amicis primary school, the Confalonieri lower secondary school, the Preziosissimo Sangue Institute, and the Nei Centre. All other schools of all levels remain open. Some city arteries also remain closed to traffic. The municipal administration recommends everyone not to get close to waterways to avoid running into unnecessary dangerous situations.
In Milan, roads are closed and bus lines diverted
After the flooding of the Seveso and Lambro rivers, some roads in Milan were closed and several ATM lines were diverted or limited. Viale Ca’ Granda, via Vittorini and via San Maurizio al Lambro (Cologno) are closed to traffic, while ATM reports that some surface lines are diverted. Specifically, bus 45 deviates and skips the stops between viale Unità and San Donato: bus 66, in both directions, deviates and skips the stops between viale Unità/via Mecenate and via Milano/C.na Boscana. Bus 88 does not operate between Viale Unità/Via Mecenate and Linate Paese, while Bus 701 towards Cologno Sud diverts and skips the stops from Viale Italia/Centro Commerciale to Via Battisti/Veneto; towards Sesto Rondò, from Cologno San Maurizio to viale Italia/Centro Commerciale.
Lambro lamination tanks activated, very high attention

The concern, however, is not over and the attention remains very high. We say to the Municipality of Milan and in particular to the competent councilor – adds Comazzi – that we pay more attention to ordinary maintenance, in particular that of the hydraulic network and rainwater that is flooding underpasses, roads and various areas of the city”.
