Seizure of 550 thousand euros for the Pakistani AK-47 Carpi – La Nera gang

For years Lapressa.it has offered free and independent information to its readers without any type of public contribution. Private advertising covers part of the costs, but it is not sufficient. For this reason we ask those who read us and follow us every day to give us, if they wish, a contribution based on their possibilities. Even a small support, multiplied by the tens of thousands of people from Modena and Emilia-Romagna who read us every day, is fundamental.

In recent days, the Modena Financial Police carried out a decree for the urgent preventive seizure of assets for a total value of almost 550 thousand euros validated by the investigating judge against three Pakistani citizens residing in Carpi, investigated for various reasons for crimes tax and self-laundering, as formal owners or de facto administrators of two individual companies used for the commission of crimes.
The investigation, conducted by the Digos of Modena with the collaboration of the Carpi police station, focused on a criminal association known as “AK-47 Carpi”, responsible for a variety of crimes such as extortion, personal injuries, threats , self-laundering, illicit intermediation and gangmastering, whose members were hit by two separate precautionary orders for detention in prison carried out on 30 April.

The complex and detailed investigative activity launched against the criminal association originated in 2021 following the courageous complaint of a worker who had suffered threats, culminating in a violent attack, and made it possible to hypothesize the existence of an association for crime, composed of foreign citizens of Pakistani origin, domiciled mainly in the Carpi area, authors of serious criminal conduct carried out in implementation of the group’s program in total obedience to the will and orders of the promoter, a 30-year-old Pakistani citizen, affected by seizure decree in question.

The analysis of the banking documentation relating to the relationships between the client companies and the individual businesses attributable to the head of the organisation, has made it possible to reconstruct movements of sums of money exceeding one and a half million euros, relating to the procedures adopted in order to provide workers with illegal payments, fully quantifying the total amount of taxes evaded, as the aforementioned companies did not submit the required declarations for VAT purposes, and of the sums resulting from tax crimes and “corporal” activities which were reused in economic, financial and entrepreneurial activities.
As a result of these investigations, two properties and two garages in Carpi were seized and were found to be the property of the three suspects, with a value of almost 250 thousand euros.
