The electoral campaign of the list officially starts from the Campetti Rossi in Via degli Imbimbo Popular Unit for Avellino who supports the candidacy for mayor of Aldo D’Andrealaunched last March by Luigi De Magistris.
The doctor from Avellino, who has always been close to the workers of the former Isochimica who became a civil party in the trial, is still a point of reference for the emergency room of the Moscati hospital. Politician by passion, today intends to contribute and give substance to the aspirations of many citizens waiting for that political turning point, the driving force of administrative transparency and economic recovery.
Housing, rights, youth policies, care of public goods, environment, transport, fight against corruption and crime. This is the future project that it intends to give strength to. As he explains: «It is a duty to thank all the friends, collaborators and citizens who wanted to give me a certificate of solidarity which means a lot to me. We have a clear understanding of our programmatic priorities, the capital needs a new vision to rediscover its essence and this is not a banal way of saying. It will be necessary to create the conditions for the city to return to being the center of an Irpinia, provincial system and this is a point on which we want to open a reflection and commit ourselves. After that there are issues that enter the body and flesh of Avellino, which do not allow us to live well. There are many, we could start from the lack of nursery schools, from the school canteen which is much more expensive than many others in Campania, through to the constant traffic and pollution.”
It is on dialogue with the centre-left D’Andrea is equally clear: «I didn’t feel like sharing anything, because this city has been damaged by a series of policies that have taken place over the years. And it is worth remembering today that healthcare doesn’t work, that we have suffered a water theft, that we are paying for reckless urbanization; all this certainly not by the will of God. Therefore I decided that this would be a solitary race, we will see in what conditions the people of Avellino will place me in: I could be mayor, councilor or excluded from the City Hall, in any case I will accept it deeply. After all, votes are counted, not interpreted.”
The candidate at his side Maurizio Acerbo, secretary of the Communist Refoundation Party, which is among the members of the Peace Earth Dignity list present in the European elections of 8 and 9 June: «The double electoral challenge shows us how much there is a need for a politics different from that of the two poles, who – I remember – both support the war. At local levels, investigations, from Liguria to Puglia, tell us that the PD and the right have the same vices. At this point a popular alternative proves fundamental. I trust the comrades from Avellino, theirs was the right choice: they present themselves in the first round with a clear alternative and for this reason I want to be hopeful, we will get to the ballot and we will collect the votes of those who are against the right and against the warmongers.”
