Stornarella, the ‘Community House’ is born: the project

The municipal administration of Stornarella has granted the Foggia Local Health Authority the free surface right on municipally owned land for the construction of the ‘Community House’ and taking care of the person with funds from the Pnrr.

Present at the signing of the agreement, for the Foggia Local Health Authority, were the general director and the director of the socio-health district of Cerignola; for the Municipality of Stornarella, the mayor, the municipal secretary and the engineer responsible for the Technical Area.

The concession concerns a land of approximately 2500 square meters near the town center and has a duration of 99 years.

On the site covered by the liberal act, the Foggia Local Health Authority will build a new building on the basis of the feasibility study. The total financing is 2,079,440 euros.

In the structure, of approximately 650 m2, there will be a specialist macro-area, which will host healthcare services such as diagnosis and treatment services with the presence of basic diagnostics, blood sampling area, outpatient and specialist services and a primary care macro-area: it will accommodate all spaces for group medicine, including general practitioners, paediatricians and community nurses.

Furthermore, a macro-area of ​​proximity care, with 12-hour medical assistance, nursing services, a single point of healthcare and administrative access, a counter and offices for social and healthcare services and a macro-area of ​​general services and logistics.

The ‘Community House’ was created with the aim of taking care of people from the moment of access, through welcoming citizens, collaboration between professionals, sharing care paths, autonomy, professional responsibility and valorisation of skills, also with the aim of eliminating improper access to hospitals.

Working within it, through group work, are general practitioners in an associated form, free-choice paediatricians, outpatient specialists, nursing staff, social workers and other healthcare professionals.

The Community House, as a privileged venue for the planning and provision of prevention and health promotion interventions and health interventions, promotes an integrated, multidisciplinary and multi-professional intervention model based on the multidimensional assessment of the person and the subsequent plan integrated and individualized care.
