Second edition of the Poetry Festival: in Corigliano Rossano focused on beauty

Exploring the depths of art and culture on a journey to inner beauty. All this next weekend in Corigliano – In the evocative setting of the urban area of Corigliano, another chapter of inspiration and creativity is preparing to reveal itself: the second edition of the Poetry Festivalpromoted by the cultural association “Poesia e… Surroundings”, guided with passion by Professor Anna Palermo.

Art, culture, poetry, painting, music, books, literature, dance will intertwine in an intriguing dance of expression and beauty on 18 and 19 May 2024, transforming Corigliano Rossano into a true sanctuary for lovers of the arts.

Thanks to the patronage of the Municipality of Corigliano Rossano, the event is part of the May of books program as part of the “City that reads” project, joining forces with numerous other associations to give the public two unforgettable days.

The architect of this magical encounter between creativity and the public is Professor Anna Palermo, a multifaceted and inspiring figure, writer, poet, and lover of every form of art. Already last year, with the first edition of the Poetry Festival, you gave life to an event that captured the hearts of many artists and enthusiasts.

And now, after the triumph of the first edition, Professor Palermo returns with the second edition, even more ambitious and engaging. The program promises to surprise and enchant with the presence of various artists from different sectors: poetry, music, painting, crafts, theater and spirituality.

They will be two intense days, full of emotions and food for thought, where art will become a bridge that connects souls and hearts, transforming the city of Corigliano Rossano into a living stage of beauty and inspiration.

The Poetry Festival, with its second edition, is preparing to be an unmissable event for all those who wish to immerse themselves in the enchantment of words, sounds, colors and emotions that only art can offer.

Statements by Professor Anna Palermo: «Beauty as a guide for a better world»

«I am absolutely convinced that Calabria is full of authentic artists, true talents who embrace painting, dance, writing and many other art forms. This is why I wanted to give life to the Poetry Festival: to transform Corigliano into a pulsating center from which art can radiate. Through art and culture, healthy individuals can be forged, people capable of appreciating inner beauty, the one that resides in each of us, alongside the shadows. Art is a path of self-regeneration and therapy, an antidote to the divisions and conflicts that afflict today’s world.
Beauty is a lesson that we learn not only through what we wish to create, but above all from what emerges from the depths of ourselves. Art becomes the vehicle through which we can immerse ourselves in our interior selves. It is in the darkness that we find the light, it is there that we manage to bring out beauty. We transform shadows into works of art, exorcising the negative and also discovering the richness of diversity. In this process, we learn to live healthy and happy lives while embracing our religious and cultural differences.

The Poetry Festival is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate art and culture in all their forms, from the exhibition of works of art to the sharing of artistic experiences. And it’s not just about aesthetic beauty, but about an inner journey that leads to the discovery of oneself and others. I want this festival to be born in Corigliano Rossano because I believe in the strength of unity and collaboration. Only by working together can we achieve something truly meaningful and lasting. My dream is that Corigliano Rossano can become a beacon of beauty and culture, a place where art can thrive and inspire future generations. Beauty is eternal. It is that joy, that love that permeates our lives and binds us to each other. And I hope that through the Poetry Festival and other similar initiatives, we can continue to spread this beauty and build a better world for everyone.”
