Unical, Calabrian students and entrepreneurs compared at the “Made in Calabria” conference

Great success for the “Made in Calabria” “Mentoring” conference at Unical

On Tuesday 14 May in the EP1 room of the Department of Economics of Unical the conference “Mentoring – Financial education Fatto in Calabria” was held with great success, organized by the association “Fatto in Calabria” in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance.

Protagonists of the event – introduced by Valeria Pupo, professor of Industrial Economics and Rector’s Delegate for Ongoing Orientation and presented by the president of “Fatto in Calabria” Katia Oliva, concluded and moderated by Francesco Aiello, professor of Economic Policy – were the students of the degree course in Economics, who had the opportunity to listen to experiences, learn advice, as well as interact with successful entrepreneurs such as Katia Oliva, president of Fatto in Calabria and CEO Nannina Bijoux, Pier Luigi Gallo CEO of CLEMì la Clementina to drink brand, Vincenzo D’Agostino CEO of Omnia Energia SPA, Roberto Bonofiglio entrepreneur and retail manager, Luca Lucia accountant and president of Federterziario Cosenza and Marco Curti lawyer of the ANCE Association and regional coordinator “Giovani Fatto in Calabria”.

The entrepreneurs shared their stories with the young people, describing the challenges and satisfactions of their entrepreneurial journey, providing valuable advice on how to start their own business in Calabria.

A topic that met with great interest from the students who had the opportunity to ask questions and delve deeper into some specific aspects of entrepreneurship in Calabria but above all they were able to grasp the positive message conveyed by all the interventions.

Stubbornness, tenacity, optimism, trust and skills can be considered the key words of the event. Words capable of breaking down any stereotype or bad condition that hinders the achievement of one’s entrepreneurial goals, therefore it was also a motivational experience, a source of inspiration for one’s business dreams.

The “Mentoring” conference, in fact, was an important opportunity for discussion and growth for the Economics students of Unical and can be considered a successful experiment, so much so that the president of “Fatto in Calabria” Katia Oliva and the prof. Francesco Aiello, immediately said they were in favor of repeating it, entering into the specifics of the different productive and entrepreneurial sectors, also because the activity carried out is an integral part of the Industrial Economics and Economic Policy courses of the Degree Course in Economics.
