The 3rd edition of Asti Pride will be dedicated to the writer Michela Murgia which will liven up the streets of Asti from 5.30pm on 6 July. «A self-financed event which this year will have as its mantra “God save the Queer”, a play on words and the title of a book by Michela Murgia, – explain Chiara Dalla Longa, president of Asti Pride, Patrizio Onori, representative of the LGBTQI+ community, Vittoria Briccarello, Stefano Bego and Roberto Rulli – a parade that has now entered the fabric of the city.”
«Our community, like all freedoms of self-determination – continued Onori – are under strong attack from this Government, but we resist without problems». The departure from Piazza Catena will wind through Via Natta, Via Giobert, Piazza Lugano, Viale Partigiani, Piazza Torino, Corso Alfieri, Piazza Cairoli, Via Carducci, Corso Alfieri to end around 8pm in Piazza Alfieri.
«Godmother of Asti Pride 2024 will be the radio presenter La Pina – illustrated Roberto Rulli – while guests will be Cristy Mc Bacon and the performer Daphne Bohemien». «We would like a constructive collaboration with local institutions – added Stefano Bego – which is not happening; this parade is therefore a way to be heard, we ask that training courses be activated in schools for the prevention of bullying and because we believe that education is the first step to prevent violence”.
