PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – Born 30 years ago in the narrow rooms of an old hematology department, the Ail Palermo-Trapani association has made it possible to bring about a turning point in the treatment and assistance of leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma patients. She interpreted a civic sense of volunteering, which is commitment and testimony. It has trained generations of volunteers capable of carrying out their commitment with courage and discretion, aware of having to hold the hand of suffering and alleviate it without intrusiveness, with love and professionalism.
But alongside this method, there is the story of many battles that have changed the face of hematology in Palermo, with the introduction of cutting-edge therapies, laboratories, research centers and services for patients. On the occasion of thirty years of association life, Ail Palermo-Trapani invites citizens to an evening of memory and commitment with Salvo Piparo’s show “Carion” at the Teatro Biondo in Palermo, Wednesday, 22 May, at 9pm with the Circo Opificio , Ernesto Maria Ponte and the Polyphonic Choir of the State Police section of Palermo, original music by Michele Piccione, introduces Alessandra Turrisi. On this special evening, the eve of the anniversary of the Capaci massacre, “the loss of innocence of young Palermo people” will be represented, in a new adaptation that will combine civil commitment and the fight against blood cancer.
