“Chiassovezzano”, Piero Dorfles in Trani to present his new book
For the series of meetings organized by the Ass. The Mary of the port in collaboration with the G. Bovio municipal library of Trani, The Dialogues of Trani they signal the second appointment that precedes the September review, with the journalist, TV author and literary critic Piero Dorfleswhich will be in Trani Friday 17 May (6pm) in the municipal library where he will present his new book, “Chiassovezzano“, published by Bompiani. The journalist from the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, Enrica Simonetti, speaks with him.
Chiassovezzano is the story of a house, in Lajatico (between Pisa and Volterra), and of a family who has lived there for about a century. It is the family of Piero Dorfles, journalist, literary critic and author of radio and television programs for Rai.
In this autobiographical book the author tells how his family of Jewish origin faced racial persecution during the war.
In Chiassovezzano, published by Bompiani, Dorfles chooses to recall those terrible months through the story of his family home, its rooms full of history and stories, its garden, the basements used as anti-aircraft shelters, the black panther that is the somewhat mysterious symbol: because everything in that place speaks of whoever chose and inhabited it.
But no heroism in the family. Recklessness, a good dose of recklessness. The term that seems most suitable to me is recklessness.” – specifies the author.
Friday 17 May (6pm) Piero Dorfles will tell the story of his family at the center of the narrative of Chiassovezzano, at the “G. Bovio” of Trani. The journalist Enrica Simonetti, writer and author of the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, speaks with the author.
