Queen of Puglia 2024, appointment in July

The network of municipalities Le Terre dell’Uva e the Regina di Puglia event, now in its second edition, were presented at Macfrut 2024, in the collective stand of the Puglia Region, by the mayor Raimondo Innamorato of Noicàttaro, the leading municipality of these initiatives aimed at enhancing the production of Apulian table grapes and its territory, by the mayor of Polignano a Mare Vito Carrieri, by the councilor for agriculture of Noicàttaro Vito Fraschini and by the councilor for territorial development of the same municipality Germana Pignatelli. The president of Apeo, Giacomo Suglia, also spoke at the event, which saw the screening of the video dedicated to the first edition of Regina di Puglia.

Rutigliano, Mola di Bari, Casamassima, Castellaneta, Adelfia and Polignano a Mare have joined the network, which sees Noicàttaro as the leading municipality, united by the objective of contributing to the valorisation and promotion of table grapes, of which they constitute the largest Italian district and European, connecting this key product of the local economy with its territory, rich in historical-cultural and naturalistic attractions, up to grape-tourism, as defined by the mayor Raimondo Innamorato during the presentation.

After the speech by the mayor of Polignano a Mare, Vito Carrieri, who underlined the importance of networking, councilor Fraschini focused on the technical aspects of the Apulian production of table grapes and the need to make their values known through effective communication, aimed at consumers but also at Italian and international buyers, which for the 2024 edition of Regina di Puglia, scheduled for next July 21st to 24th, they will return to the area.

And the councilor of Noicàttaro Germana Pignatelli spoke precisely about Regina di Puglia and the need for territorial marketing. The Regina di Puglia 2024 program is at an advanced stage. As last year, visits to table grape companies are planned, in the field and in the warehouse, business to business meetings between Apulian companies and Italian and foreign buyers (among the latter a delegation of Canadian importers is expected), as well as moments cultural and tourism, ending with a seminar on territorial marketing to which the mayors of the Le Terre dell’Uva network are invited, a seminar enriched by a market observatory on table grapes curated by an Ismea specialist.

Table grapes are a key product of the Apulian economy and the initiatives launched by Le Terre dell’Uva, starting from the experience of Regina di Puglia, constitute significant innovation, not only for table grapes but for the entire Italian fruit and vegetable sector, laying the foundations of a synergy between public and private for the development of an unprecedented territory.
