JOB DAY FOR SCHOOL at Palazzo Alvaro

On 15 May 2024 at 9.30 am the JOB DAY FOR SCHOOL, final event of the second edition of the project “Together we create the future”, promoted by the partnership between the Reggio Calabria Employment Center with the Manager Eng. Vittorio Colosimo – Sviluppo Lavoro Italia (formerly ANPALservizi SpA) with Filippo Francica, 9 Reggio schools covering the territory of territorial jurisdiction from Bagnara Calabra to Bova Marina, together with Confindustria of the province of Reggio Calabria, Order of Consultants of Work of the province of Reggio Calabria, Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Calabria and over 35 companies.

The aforementioned partners, in bringing together the roles and skills of significant actors in the world of work, intended to give a significant and concrete response to the expectations of the fifth year students of the city’s professional institutes, as well as providing the opportunity to create a valid matching with the needs represented by important companies, not only locally.

This network model placed at the service of occupational transitions, proposed for the second time also for 2024, involved over 700 students leaving the school system in laboratory activities and became, as part of a synergistic action planned between the Department Work of the Calabria Region, first with the General Director Roberto Cosentino and subsequently with the new Director Dr. Fortunato Varone, together with the Manager of the Territorial Functions sector of Employment Centers – Southern Area, lawyer. Sergio Tassone and the Councilor for Labor and Professional Training Policies, Dr. Giovanni Calabrese, a “best practice model”, so much so as to provide the basis for an operational dialogue with all the other employment centers in the regional territory, in order to replicate the experience throughout the Calabrian territory.

The JOB DAY FOR SCHOOLL is an event specifically programmed to make the graduating students and their professional aspirations protagonists, who, by participating for the first time in a real job interview, will have the opportunity to experience an initial contact with local companies, not only at in order to evaluate concrete work experiences but, above all, to encourage the initiation of a conscious knowledge of oneself and the needs required by today’s job market. A further objective of this day is to achieve a real matching between Supply and Demand and work. In fact, one of the prodromal steps to this event was the survey of the professional needs of the companies carried out by the Reggio Calabria Employment Center in collaboration with the project partners, following which around 90 job offers were realised, to be offered to fifth year students who have joined the initiative with around 550 job interviews already scheduled, which will take place starting from 9.30 am on May 15th

At the same time, in the Sala Perri of Palazzo Alvaro in Reggio Calabria, a Round Table will be held in which the following will participate: Dr. Clara Vaccaro – Prefect of Reggio Calabria, the lawyer. Giuseppe Falcomatà – Metropolitan Mayor of Reggio Calabria, Dr. Giovanni Calabrese – Councilor for Labor of the Calabria Region, Eng. Domenico Vecchio – President of Confindustria of the province of Reggio Calabria, Dr. Flaviana Tuzzo – President of the Order of Labor Consultants of Reggio Calabria, Dr. Antonino Tramontana – President of the Chamber of Commerce, Filippo Francica for Sviluppo Lavoro Italia, Dr. Fortunato Varone – General Director of the Calabria Region Labor Department, the lawyer. Sergio Tassone – Manager of Sector n.4 “Territorial Functions Employment Centers – Implementation of Active and Inclusive Policies – Southern Area – Reggio Calabria Headquarters”, Dr. Antonino D. Cama – Director of USR Calabria – territorial area of ​​Reggio Calabria, the school directors of the institutes involved, Eng. Vittorio Colosimo – Head of CPI Reggio Calabria, moderator of the meeting, who will meet to dialogue and discuss the undeniable value of building a “virtuous network” that always nourishes the connection between the school system and the job market, in order to to be able to achieve a more effective and relevant change within the present territorial context.
