Rimini, asphalting of Viale Matteotti: work completed by September

With the next September reopening of schools as the deadline, the municipal council has given the green light to the second lot of the project for the redevelopment of Viale Matteotti, in the stretch between Via Marecchia and Largo Vannoni.

This new intervention, which involves an amount of approximately 205 thousand euros, is part of the continuity of the efforts already made to improve the traffic and safety of the artery, and in particular, aims at resurfacing the road surface. The planned work involves first milling the surface layer of asphalt, followed by the reconstruction of the same at the same thickness, while in those areas where the surface has cracks and evident signs of subsidence, we will proceed with deeper milling and reconstruction of the layer base to ensure greater stability and safety.

The deterioration of the avenue is largely due to the roots of the pine trees which, over the years, have extended and created significant differences in level. To address this problem, the interventions also focused on clearing the subgrade near the trees, as well as on the arrangement of the sidewalks on both sides of the road. The objective has always been to redevelop the road surface while simultaneously safeguarding the health of the plants.
