Despite the negative data which gives us a worrying general picture characterized by unemployment, inactive young people (NEETs), intense processes of emigration especially among young people, the Campania, like the South, represents a place in which industrial and employment policies capable of change can be developed the sign in the perspective of the realization of a just ecological transition.

“Green jobs – he comments Mariateresa Learnato, President of Legambiente Campania – represent a concrete response to the fragile regional labor market by offering new employment opportunities, in particular for the large segment of the young population, and making the realization of a just ecological transition tangible. Expanding job opportunities through sustainable development means reducing social inequalities, combating poverty in all its forms, fighting against forms of illegal and undeclared work. In other words, the promotion and diffusion of green jobs contribute to expanding the employment opportunities of the territories, creating new opportunities for more equitable, sustainable and democratic development.”

In the Dossier contains a focus on the topic of employment in the energy sector in Campania with a questionnaire submitted to ten companies in the energy sector. The sample identified is varied as it is made up of small, medium and large companies. The ten companies identified, they employ a total of 1,183 workers in Italy, of which 38.5% – 455 workers – are employed in various capacities in Campania.

Seven out of ten companies who responded to the questionnaire have adopted equal opportunities policies in order to respond to the urgent need for female employment in the sector; in fact, from the interviews it emerges that only 12.5% of employees in Campania are women. The 90% of those interviewed he replies that the most sought after figure is that of‘engineerfollowed in second place by the role of skilled worker with 70% preferences; unlike the previous question in which reference was made to technical design; followed by the permitting manager – a professional figure who is responsible for requesting the necessary authorizations from the bodies in charge to build renewable energy plants – with 40% of preferences.
