PAVIA 14/05/2024: Ben Kacem of Atletica Pavese wins the spring Vernavolarun

PAVIA Atletica Pavese is the absolute protagonist at the spring edition of Vernavolarun, proposed this year on 12 May, and organized as always by the Pool of Pavia companies (Running Oltrepo, Avis Pavia and Atletica Pavese) inside the Vernavola Park in Pavia. With 28 participants, the Voghera club was the most represented team, representing almost a third of the total participants. But also qualitatively, the rossoblu stood out in almost all categories. Starting with Mohamed Ben Kachem, who won, with a nice long sprint, the race of all, at the end of the very well calibrated 8 kilometres, and naturally dominating among the Over 40s. On the shortened 4 kilometer course reserved for women and Over 60 men, Atletica Pavese recorded two beautiful hat-tricks. In fact, among the men’s Over 60s, Franco Barletta, Davide Legnari and Luigi Bariani occupied the first three positions, coloring the podium red and blue. Just as happened among the Over 70s, with Francesco Macrì preceding his teammates Giovanni Conco and Giuseppe Fiini. Francesco Puccio then achieved another good victory in the M75, while Martino Palmeri dominated among the Over 65s, where Giuseppe Guastamacchia took third place. In the women’s field. Angela Commetti and Irene Stringo scored a double in the F70, while Dai Qi dominated in the Under 40, where Deborah Antipasqua took third place. Daniela Cortazzo then occupied third position among the Over 40s, while Giovanna Serraino climbed to the second step of the podium in the F50.

Good, then, also to all the other Pavese standard bearers in the race. From Gianluca Baroni, Gianpalo Di Bella Franco Nicolò, Tiziano Zelaschi, Marco Scabini and Giuseppe Santoro over the course of 8 kilometres; to Luisa Celasco, Patrizia Scapolo, Federica Pizzelli, Claudio Prete, Maurizio Scorbati and Giancarlo Sfondrini on the shortest route.
