To the Kartodromo of Messina victory achieved by team Leopard in the 2H Endurance valid for Interprovincial Championshiporganized by Karting Club Messina of the manager Duilio Petrullo. The couple formed by Valentino Fusco and Sara La Fauci toasted the success, winning the second test of 2024 of the team specialty as part of the collaboration with the Ispica track, which had hosted the previous event on 20 April. The third Endurance race was also held as part of the internal championship.
Twenty at the start
Twenty teams are involved, divided between F1, F2 and F3. Best time in 10′ qualifying set by Evo MRT (F2) in 37.820. Departure, based on the categories of belonging, with Leopard sprinting from pole position (37,961) and Maiden MRT rounding out the front row. At the start there was immediately a great fight for the top positions, with SenzaFiltro managed to momentarily overtake Maiden MRT and Leopard, which then regained the lead after the first laps. At 30′ of the race Leopard, Trinacria RT and Maiden MRT in the leading trio, without any stops yet. Leopard then continues solidly ahead of everyone, but moves up Kairos Racing behind Trinacria RT, with 2 pit stops halfway through the test. Everything is postponed until the pit closes (6 for the F1 category, 7 for the others), for the last 5 minutes to be experienced in one breath.
A race without respite
On the way out Leopard manages a reassuring margin on the contenders and can cross the finish line triumphing at the checkered flag after 161 laps completed. Valentino Fusco and Sara La Fauci, capable of even signing the “best lap” in 37,714, they conquer the 2H Endurance also valid for the Interprovincial Championship, after having already secured the first 2H Endurance of the season for the internal Championship. Kairos Racing finishes in second place, one turn. After the initial difficulties, the comeback was possible thanks toskill demonstrated by Giovanni Rizzo and Davide Campione who worked well in synergy with their team manager. SenzaFiltro third, with Marco Broccio and Luigi Pizzuti who confirmed themselves on the podium. Vulcan Racing Team celebrates in F2 (Milo Barbera and Giuseppe Greco), preceding in the order of arrival, in 154 laps, MZ Karting (Felice Mancuso and Daniele Zumbo), at 1,414 and AIR MRT (Massimiliano D’Angelo and Alessandro Maggio), at 1 lap. In F3 the success of Fire MRT (Simone Bongiorno and Andrea Brusca) in 153 laps, ahead of Ice MRT (Andrea Cardile and Samuele Cerrito) and Futura RT (Massimo and Matteo Montoneri).
The next appointment
At the end of the 2H Endurance, as usual, the awards ceremony with cups and plaques for the first three teams classified in each category, pole position and absolute best lap of the event. The score of the internal championship, relating to the races held exclusively on the Messina circuit, was attributed using the SWS points simulator at 95%. The spotlight is now all on the 24H Week in Messina scheduled for May 25-26.
