With the defeat in Bologna, the Granata slipped to seventh place with a thousand mitigating factors
With four players in the first team and two also decisive, the Torino Primavera lost at Bologna in a comeback. The suspensions after the return derby forced Scurto to play with a reshuffled squad against Sampdoria and then came a defeat characterized by episodes. The certainty is that without some points of reference and with other guys still to be 100% recovered, the Toro of the last period is not the real Toro. Against Samp the team created very little, in contrast to the history of a season in which the Granata have always put a lot of effort into the opposing rearguards. Against Bologna the missed penalty is perhaps the only real regret, because the Bolognese were able to keep the pitch well and put Toro in difficulty even in the offensive area.
Sunday against Milan will therefore be a final, but the Rossoneri will have two results out of three available, while the Granata are called to win. Scurto’s team deserves to make the playoffs and has demonstrated this for large stretches of the season. However, the difficult period from the Italian Cup final loss onwards is weighing heavily on the year. Now the team must form a circle, unite and give everything to win against the Rossoneri. Just as a year ago the victory against Empoli came on the last day which guaranteed second place, now Toro has a decisive challenge in the last act. This time it will be from inside or outside and who knows whether even the stands of the Valentino Mazzola in Orbassano might be filled with fans to push the team to a feat. On the other side there will be a team fresh from the Youth League final, therefore a very very complicated one to face.
