Novara – Just four words: Azzurra in Serie A1! A young club, but vigorous and eager to do, the one set up by president Scacchetti and all the technical and managerial staff, which has led – with the inclusion of some fundamental players – to an extraordinary result, if you think about what Hockey in the city was at a high level in recent times, despite the incredible and perhaps unrepeatable glories of the past. Breganze (Vicenza) needed at least 1 point and so it was, after a 6-6 not for the faint of heart in the match played on Sunday evening.
Initially, coach Campanati opts for Bernardelli, Maniero, Brusa, Gallotta and Ortiz; on the other side Thiella sends onto the pitch: Giuseppe and Giovanni Tagliapietra, Battaglin, Barbieri and Costenaro. The first half was played almost in apnea, with the two teams contracted, ready to restart in quick counterattacks which more often than not turned out to be fatal. In the 13th minute the score broke the deadlock with the ‘usual’ Ortiz who found the winning deflection in front of goal. The cry of joy remains strangled in the throats of the Novara fans in the stands, as Breganze not only draws, but overturns the result thanks to the goals of A. Tagliapietra (14′) and Lanaro (15′) scored mainly due to amnesia in defense . Campanati calls time-out; Ortiz gets a penalty which however fails and in the final Gallotta finds the right opening for the deserved equalizer. When the half seemed to end with a draw, here was the pearl of Captain Brusa who, with a shot from his side, beats Giuseppe Tagliapietra for the counter-overtaking: 2-3. Before the siren, a blue card was issued to Ortiz for non-compliant behavior in the Veneto area.
In the second half Costenaro equalized with a direct shot, then Maniero and Brusa extended for the guests. Then Costenaro shortens and shortly after Gallotta scores the 6th goal for TR Azzurra. The reaction of a never tamed Breganze was not long in coming and Barbieri and Antonio Tagliapietra set the result at a substantially fair draw which in any case decreed the promotion of the Campanati Band.
And now it’s time to celebrate and on Saturday 18th at Pala Dal Lago at 8.45pm Scandiano arrives, perhaps the most difficult opponent of this championship. A ‘total-blue’ arena is announced in honor of a team that has achieved a truly important goal in view of the next Hockey World Cup, which will take place in September in Novara.
