“Catanzaro like the Wild West? We don’t like sheriffs but something is changing”

How many times have we heard him say in these long years: “Catanzaro is like the Wild West, illegal advertising billboards everywhere and without a euro collected by the Municipality, there are people who abandon the carcasses of cars on the street, who water the vegetable patches and gardens with drinking water stolen with illegal connections, who throws garbage bags out the window, who doesn’t collect dog waste.” How many times have we heard this and no one has lifted a finger.

We don’t feel like sheriffs, but we have started to do something. And maybe that’s why we’re starting to annoy someone.

Some numbers. More than 100 illegal advertising installations identified, 114 car carcasses removed from the streets, dozens and dozens of illegal connections discovered, numerous condominiums sanctioned for failure to comply with separate waste collection, many crafty rubbish collectors caught by camera traps, finally the first sanctions for those who do not collects dog waste. And we’re only at the beginning. But why wasn’t anything done before? It was perhaps more comfortable to close one eye, or rather two.

I am sure that the vast majority of Catanzaro residents appreciate this effort. Without a City of rules there can never be a Greater Catanzaro.
