Several illnesses during the Sardinian ride in Sassari.
No hitches Sardinian Cavalcade 2024where folk group parades continued all morning in front of several thousand spectators with small groups crowded together in the best strategic points for taking photos or shooting souvenir videos with cell phones. The best points to watch the show, however, are not always the most recommended for the spectator’s health. Because of strong sunof the heat and consequently of the low pressure, in fact, at the Cavalcata Sarda, various ailments.
Someone lost consciousness, someone felt faint. He intervened immediately 118 health personnel with the staff of Sardinian rescue. For some of the people who experienced illness and drops in blood pressure, it was necessary toimmediate transfer to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari for further checks. Not due to the severity of the clinical picture – nothing serious to report -, but mainly to monitor the progress of the illness and verify that it leaves no consequences on the patients’ health.
During demonstrations where you have to stay standing for many hours it is recommended not to stop for too long under the sun without taking shelter, hydrate continuously, and avoid crowding together with other spectators present.
