Avezzano-Naples: the route
The first week ends with the second longest stage of this edition (214 km, the longest will be Livigno with 222 km). The first part is quiet in the Lazio hinterland: there will be no altitude difficulties except for the Vicalvi junction, but nothing transcendental. In the second part, however, the race becomes interesting. In quick succession we will have Procida (4th category, 4.1 km at 3.1%), Lucrino (1.1 km at 6.7%), Solfatara of Pozzuoli (2.2 km at 4.9%) e Posillipo (3.2 km at 4.4%). Here too we are not talking about Mortirolo and Stelvio, but the final sprint could be hindered by these teeth which could favor some finisseur action.
