Santa Maria degli Angeli – 1-0 defeat in the final of the “Peace Tournament” for the Under 16 Perugia boys against Ternana.
The goal that will decide the match bears the signature of Coltorti after just five minutes of play. After the disadvantage, Perugia created various dangerous actions which were thwarted by the rossoverde defence. In the second half, the red and whites were still on the attack, creating other scoring opportunities but without scoring. In the final red to Perugini and Perugia in ten. Mister Anelli’s boys still come out to applause.
Award “best player” of the tournament to Damian Dokanovic of Vojvodina Novi Sad, best goalkeeper Daniel Culi of Ternana while the title of top scorer went to Francesco Maria Merico of Perugia.
The protagonists of the day were rewarded by the host Luigi Repace who thankedthe kids and all the staff for participating in this important initiative which carries forward the message of peace, respect and friendship that has been celebrated in Umbria for several years. A special mention for the National Amateur League, the local institutions and all the sports clubs who gave a precious contribution to the success of this ninth edition”.
Even the NLD President Giancarlo Abete joined in the message of gratitude: “I congratulate all the teams who enthusiastically participated in this important international youth football sporting event. The National Amateur League invests in young people because they are our future and represent the basis of the entire amateur football movement.”
