Flood, Torselli responds to the PD mayors of Prato: “The Government is doing its part. Who governed the Region and the hydraulic risk for 70 years in Tuscany?”

The regional councilor of Fratelli d’Italia Francesco Torselli, candidate in the European elections, responds to the mayors of the Democratic Party, to the parliamentarian Marco Fùrfaro and to the regional councilor Monia Monni who yesterday, in a press conference in Prato, denounced 6 months after the last November’s flood, the government’s lack of resources for refreshments and restoration interventions.
Torselli brands the initiative as electoral exploitation at the expense of flood victims, assures us of the Meloni government’s allocations and underlines how the compensation provided by the Tuscany Region, 3,000 euros per family, has not yet reached half of the recipients who have requested it.

Fratelli d’Italia councilor Torselli then invites the Region to assume its responsibilities on the issues of hydraulic risk and maintenance of waterways.

The Democratic Party replies again to the Fratelli d’Italia councillor, with the Tuscan spokesperson Diego Blasi: “Torselli it climbs over straws and doesn’t answer the central question: where is the money for reconstruction? In the province of Prato alone, this amounts to 83 million euros which are needed for 172 urgent interventions to mitigate hydrogeological risk. Beyond any rhetoric, Torselli tell us what the act, the decree, the law is in which these resources are given to the territory. To date I don’t think there is a single euro allocated. Regarding reimbursements to families, I would like to remind you that the resources received by private individuals are from the Tuscany Region, those foreseen by the government have yet to arrive, also due to a botched amendment that blocked 66 million euros. In Tuscany, the flood damage amounts to around 2.1 billion euros in total. Can we work well and quickly to have the necessary resources?” concludes Diego Blasi.
