Another stage in the run-up to the local elections has been completed. In fact, the lists of candidates for the city council linked to the mayors running for renewals have been filed 26 Arezzo municipalities that go to vote.
The amount of data is important: 58 the people, including men and women, who have decided to engage in electoral campaigns for the office of mayor, are supported by 63 lists. The highest figure comes from Cortona, where the challenge is very keen. Here there are five candidates for mayor and ten lists. San Giovanni Valdarno follows with nine lists of those running for the city council and four for the office of mayor. Then there is the case of Subbiano, a town in the lower Casentino of six thousand souls which has produced, this year too, well 5 candidates for mayor.
In four cases there is only one candidate for mayor and it is always the outgoing mayor: in the municipalities of Talla (Eleonora Ducci), Ortignano Raggiolo (Emanuele Ceccherini), Castiglion Fibocchi (Marco Ermini) and Sestino (Franco Dori). For them the most important data to look at will therefore be that of voter turnout because there is a minimum threshold of voters to exceed and it is 40%.
Mayors and former mayors are in the field, as are some deputies who have chosen to run against their previous council colleagues. In the background, therefore, the challenge is to convince the candidates to compose the lists for the municipal councils, in the knowledge that the individual preferences taken are also important.
