The operators of the flying squad of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office of the local Police Headquarters arrested a 43-year-old man, born and resident in the province of Brindisi, because they were found in possession of approximately 40 grams of hashish, an electric scale of precision, as well as the cash sum of 60 euros.
The officers, during the normal service of the territory, noticed a car passing in via G. da Fiore which, at the sight of the operators, accelerated its pace, with the clear intention of evading police control.
Immediately, the operators blocked the car and proceeded to carry out a search of the passengers, which gave a positive result, as one of them was found in possession of the aforementioned material, hidden inside a pouch, which was seized.
The man was arrested for the crime of possession for the purpose of trafficking of narcotic substances, and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Crotone.
